Business plan and project management for Mount Kenya Heritage Centre Limited
The Mt Kenya Heritage Centre was registered to develop the unequal and alternative tourism attraction in the country covering heritage and the culture of the people of Kenya. The initial project would cover the Nairobi and Central Kenya mainly dwelling on the heritage and culture of the Agikuyu community. It is expected that the project would be replicated in other parts of the country. The vision of this project is to document cultural heritage of the Kikuyu people in all their diversity; and to enhance institutional linkages with the knowledge and wisdom held by neighboring communities and other world cultures as a means of preserving, promoting and enhancing diminishing awareness in the younger generations as to their identity and the wealth, beauty and value of their cultural heritage. The business plan which formed the basis of the financing of the project by the Tourism Trust Fund was used by the company for the implementation of the project.
