Institutional support for Nakuru Water & Sanitation Services Company Limited (NAWASSCO)
This is a project funded by the African Development Bank to provide institutional support to NAWASSCO in the area of financial management. The assignment which is still ongoing involves review of the operations of the finance department and making appropriate recommendations for strengthening the operations and supervising implementation of the proposed changes to ensure that the organization embraces these changes in order to have effective financial management systems. The assignment also involves assisting the organization in the creation of an internal audit section within NAWASSCO, proposing means for improving the financial performance including the need for a culture change in the Company, training needs assessment leading to the preparation of a staff training programme within the Finance Department. In addition the following reports and documents will be reviewed and updated: Corporate Plan 2005-2009, Organograms, Budgets and Financial Projections, and Performance Contract with Rift Valley Water Services Board.
