Training on the Constitution and Devolution to the Makueni County Council, and Nakuru Municipal Council, Kenya – 2013
The New Constitution of Kenya was promulgated on the 27th August 2010. Since then a lot has happened including the enactment of various laws to implement the constitution. Of particular interest are the set of new laws which were enacted last year for the implementation of devolution which is the main foundation of the new constitution. CDC was therefore contracted by Makueni County Council and Nakuru Municpal Council to conduct training which was informed by the need of the stakeholders of these authorities to be appraised and have an understanding of the New Constitution and in particular devolution. The training therefore was designed to facilitate the stakeholders of the Council to have a basic understand of the key provisions of the new constitution and specifically the new system of governance under devolved governments.
