This port for many years was run under management contract. The government had now resolved to return the management into the hands of Sierra Leonia’s and at the same time privatize commercial activities of the port so as to boost its performance.

CDC was subcontracted by CPCS Transcom of Canada to provide the following services:

• Reviewed the current financial situation.
• Reviewed and analyzed the accounting systems and made recommendations on their improvement.
• Proposed appropriate financial management plans to be implemented so as to improve the port’s management systems.
