Development of the Tender for Acquisition of 60% of the Shares of Kitabi Tea Company in Rwanda
Rwanda Government is privatising most of the companies currently operated directly or indirectly by the government. Currently they are privatising the tea companies in the country. A group of investors approached us with the following objectives to review the tender requirements for the Kitabi Tea Company and advise the investors accordingly; undertake a review of the operations of Kitabi Tea Company and assess the required investments to modernize the factory and improve tea production; undertake feasibility study for the investment in a new tea value adding plant at the factory; prepare a business plan which would meet the tender requirement for the acquisition of 60% of the company; and value the shares of the company as a going concern to get the estimated 60% which the investors could quote for.
The objective of the project was to
- Review the tender requirements for the Kitabi Tea Company and advise the investors accordingly;
- Undertake a review of the operations of Kitabi Tea Company and assess the required investments to modernize the factory and improve tea production;
- Undertake feasibility study for the investment in a new tea value adding plant at the factory;
- Prepare a business plan which would meet the tender requirement for the acquisition of 60% of the company; and
- Value the shares of the company as a going concern to get the estimated 60% which the investors could quote for.
